I got this twill tape for two uses -- to replace the worn edging on a much-used and much-beloved 25-year old small wool rug, and to finish tufted rugs that I make myself. It's exactly what I was hoping for.The tape is flexible and has a little drape, with a firm feel. It stretches a little but not much, same as the wool rug it's going on, so I expect it to flex slightly with the rug instead of being totally rigid. For me, that's a plus. The tape feels like cotton to the touch. It's 1.5 inches wide, plenty to securely finish the rug edges and to protect the replacement backing material I'm putting on. I hand-sewed it on with quilting needles and cotton quilting thread, figuring those are both made to last, and I did use a thimble about half the time but could just use my fingers about half the time.This twill tape is a nice thickness, it doesn't create a raised edge/frame around the borders of my rug but does feel very sturdy. The tape is charcoal grey and light grey striped (in a chevron with the point in the center of the tape), which I found was a very useful visual guide. It was quickly obvious when I veered ever so slightly (1 mm or less) which made it easier to undo and correct.The roll of twill tape comes in a convenient plastic envelope with snap closures, so it won't unroll and make me think there's a snake in my supplies drawer every time I open the drawer. I'm very satisfied with this twill tape!
