Know Your Machine Shank Type: To know your sewing machine's shank type, all you need to do is lower your machine's foot and measure the distance between the screw hole and the needle plate. If your measured distance is 1 inch, then you need a High shank ruler foot. if you measured 1/2 inch, then you need a low-shank ruler foot. Refer to our listing images to learn more.
Tall Lip: Our free-motion quilting foot has a tall lip that allows you to press your quilting template up against the base of the foot. This tall lip prevents the foot from sliding under your quilting templates and rulers.
Quilt Lines Easily: The foot's symmetrical design ensures that your machine's needle lands right in the center of the foot. The foot's diameter is 1/2 inch. This means the needle will always be 1/4 inch away from either side; allowing you to easily quilt lines that are 1/4 inch apart.
Durable: Our ruler foot is made from high-quality stainless steel.

I’ve now got the long and short ruler. At the present time I can’t get neither one of them to work on my Brother #3850 domestic sewing machine. So disappointed was really hoping it would work and make free motion a little easier.

Does not work with Singer Heavy Duty Machines
The quality looks good and I was excited to use it with the Dabline templates, but it will not work on a Singer Heavy Duty machine.
