Redefining Rug Making: Using Fabric Scrap Instead of Yarn

Is that even possible? How? and will the rug even look good? Well, that's what this blog is all about.

Fabric Scrap Tufting

This innovative approach to tufting uses fabric scraps and turns them into stunning works of art. This idea was brought to life by the talented Kathia Bailey

Kathia has pioneered this technique by using fabric scraps rather than traditional yarn in her tufting process. Rather than allowing her old dress to go to waste, she repurposed it by cutting it into small threads of fabric, which she then tufted into a rug.

The end result is a stunning piece of art that not only showcases Kathia's creativity but also highlights the potential of fabric scrap tufting. Each rug tells a unique story, with vibrant colors and intricate designs that captivate the imagination.

Steps:

  • Cut old clothes or fabric into threads
  • Thread your gun with these threads of fabric
  • Tuft each thread into your rug
